For Hungary, social policy primarily means supporting families, the government tries to strengthen the country through the strengthening of families.

Katalin Novák , minister without portfolio responsible for families, spoke about the Hungarian government's family policy in Porto, Portugal, after the European Union summit on social issues began. The minister explained:

From the point of view of the Hungarian people, it is important that the tax system that supports families remains, that it remains competitive thanks to low taxes, such as corporate tax, and that incomes from work remain with families as much as possible.

The government does not want a uniform tax system in Europe, it does not want taxes to be increased in Hungary because this was invented at the European level.

Katalin Novák reported on the popularity of the Czech Republic, the launch of the new home renovation program, and they also touched on the importance of women having real freedom of choice, being able to find a job on the labor market if they wish, but also being able to raise their children. While the Portuguese prefer to remedy their demographic problems with migration, Hungary prefers to increase the desire to have children.
