The death toll from the terrorist attack at a concert hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, on Friday night exceeded sixty, the Russian investigative committee announced early Saturday.

Earlier, the Federal Security Service (FSSB) reported forty dead.

"The death victims are being investigated. For now, all that can be determined is that more than 60 people died in the terrorist attack, and unfortunately this number may rise even further.

The roof of the Crocus City Hall collapsed due to the flames. The terrorist organization Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack in a Telegram message. The jihadist group claimed that its commandos "wreaked massive destruction before returning to their base in complete safety".

All victims were transported from the scene of the terrorist attack near Moscow
