On our biggest national holiday, he remembered the Revolution and Freedom Struggle of 1848-49, Hungarian and Polish martyrs, with the Polish friends of the CÖF-CÖKA.
Over many years, our Polish friends have also represented themselves in large numbers on this occasion, even though they could not participate in our festive events in an organized way due to the war situation in Europe. This does not change the thousand-year-old Hungarian-Polish friendship, which is unbroken and will remain so according to our wishes.
At the National Museum, the members of the CÖF clubs listened to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's speech, following tradition, the Hungarians and Poles placed wreaths of remembrance at the statue of József Bem, and then marched together to the memorial to the victims of the Katyn massacre.
The leadership of CÖF-CÖKA, namely president László Csizmadia, spokesman Zoltán Lomnici Jr. and national coordinator Norbert Heizler, praised the Polish and Hungarian heroes of the freedom struggle.
In his message, the excellent Polish writer Konrad Sutarski, who has lived in Hungary for many years, encouraged the clubs and members of CÖF and Gazeta Polska to be together again next year.
The war that came upon us and the Russian aggression cannot prevent our citizens from expressing their brotherly love.
