A disturbing linguistic phenomenon is the intrusive invasion of (foreign) words and expressions that regard man almost as a machine, and the mechanical gnawing away of official, bureaucratic-technocratic language.

This cannot be confused with such a great linguistic virtue as eloquent speech and witty, persuasive wordplay!

In the ideal sense, childbearing and the most beautiful mystery, the birth of a child, which serves as the blessed fulfillment of the love of two people, are referred to in the media language - and more and more often in the public discourse as well - recently the baby project . This vocabulary translation lowers this festive experience to the level of the grayest everyday practicality. Anyone who thinks that this is a witty or – in false fashion word – "trendy" term is wrong. Taking responsibility for the child, the sweet fruit of love - a project?! For a mysterious reason, however, this composition is popular: "The baby project : stop taking birth control 1 year before planning the baby"; baby project fails ?" (In addition, in the last sentence it is written incorrectly, separately.) It happens that the speaker himself is unsure: did he really manage to choose the right expression? And what is certain is certain: he puts the word in quotation marks... We are also informed that he is now practicing as a baby project consultant (sic!). If you describe it, it should be flawless: baby project consultant.

The (elaborated) 'plan, draft, work plan, schedule' , the 'draft of some work or scientific research ', the 'program, work programme ', the (large, multi-participant) 'task' , or (prepared for carrying out some work or scientific research and submitted) 'tender' , as well as the project meaning 'the execution or process of a specific work or scientific research' can be replaced in most cases with the shorter and longer Hungarian equivalents listed. Based on the context, it can be replaced with, for example, the following: vision, concept, idea, idea, invention, objective, target plan, long-term goal; offer, suggestion; plan sketch, plan preparation, developed plan; Research topic; design work, research work, scientific research process; development; creation of a business, investment, product or service; facility.

The project in the media! "The project strengthens the protection of the European seed stock of the peregrine falcon (Falco cherrug)"; "Hungarian specialists help Azeri agricultural projects "; "What is the most important ingredient of a successful tourism project ?; "tasks of projects " etc.

There are also art projects , aviation projects , industrial projects , not to mention special projects , etc. And there are, among other things, a health project , a traffic safety project, a book project , a vehicle purchase project , a sports project, an education project , and a community project . Feel free to exchange this foreign word of Latin or English origin for one of the mentioned Hungarian terms with a similar meaning!

But before that happens, we'll share the big news with those who haven't heard about it yet: so-called love projects also happen! This is evidenced by the following media statements: "Arthur Newman's world is a true independent film love project about how two strangers find each other, who seemingly couldn't be more different, but something still connects them." Also: “In retrospect, Planetary may have been a classic love project for both Ellis and Cassaday…”

But like many expressions, including love , the love project is also destined to (endless) expansion of meaning: "participating in a literary program is always a love project "; "the cozy canteen is a project of love for the owners"; "for us, the business course is a love project " (That one can be omitted).

If even this is not enough, you can find the following (amazingly newsworthy) information in the media: "Recently, there was a real baby boom around the homes of foreign and domestic celebrities: many celebrities were able to hug their newborn babies"; " Baby boom: 17 star babies will arrive by autumn." (Interpret the italicized composition as: 'we are living the time of the birth wave hill'.)

As an amusing expansion of the meaning of this term, we are informed on the world wide web about "the February baby boom " in rabbit breeding, and the newspaper writes: "with the arrival of good weather, the spring baby boom also began in the zoo". Understand: (following successful reproduction) a large amount of reproduction . ( One of the meanings of boom 'great increase, reproduction' .)

mother tongue protection project . But rather: we are happy if we could make some suggestions to draw from the meaningful words of our huge dictionary of synonyms against sloppiness, sloppy, superficial, undemanding, crappy language. Na bumm... ('who cares? and then what?') - he can say with an evasive, flat turn of phrase, indifferent to the demanding use of language. But perhaps there are those who hear the words of the language therapists, and as a result of incessant language guarding, a big boom (read: strong sound effect) hits this gray communication process. Because there is no obstacle to the choice, beautiful Hungarian way of expression. It has an amazingly rich vocabulary.
