Once again, the fishermen managed to catch the famous Danube fish, the weight of which decreased slightly compared to last year.
Almost a year later, the giant carp, which has a reddish color due to a genetic disorder, was caught again from the Ráckevei-Soroksári Danube. It turned out that there is less food in the river, so they bite on everything, so they were able to catch the red giant again.
The watchmaker was hooked by Máté Siket, whose name burst into the public consciousness in 2022, since in that year he certified a total of 30 record-breaking carp, i.e. at least 15 kilos. This already made him the most successful angler on the record list.
Since the record-listed fish of the Ráckevei-Soroksári Danube are equipped with a chip, it is revealed when and by whom they were previously caught during the fish watch's authentication.
Several fish have already returned to Siket Máté this year, but the most special of them all is the red carp, which he was able to meet again almost exactly one year apart.
On March 9 last year, the angler was able to hold the reddish-pigmented scalyfish from Ráckeve weighing 24.2 kilos. The unique-looking fish was also dealt with by the Hungarian Haltani Társaság. In the completed scientific statement, it was written that it is a carp with defective genes in terms of coloration, whose body (except for the head) differs from the usual colors.
This special carp paid its respects again at Siket Máté on Monday, March 25, at 9:30 a.m. this year.
Compared to last year's catch location, it was hooked 2 kilometers higher, and what is very interesting is that it has lost a lot of its mass. He lost weight from 24.2 to 21.5.
“There are so many carp that there is less food and there was a shellfish die-off last summer. They obviously don't have as much food, because there are a lot of big fish to catch now. It seems that they have to eat all the boilies. This year I already caught 4-5 fish, and each of them was missing several 2-3 kilos - he explained what could be the reason why the carp became smaller, and of course he also made me aware that it will be more difficult to get over 30 kilos this year.
