Although the state program was started for the safety of the elderly, the service will soon be expanded.

The Gondosóra program can also help pets and small animals

- said the prime minister's chief adviser in a video uploaded to his social media site on Sunday.

Zsolt Nyitrai reminded that the program was launched in order to create security for the elderly as a caring state. He added:

they must also be prepared for requests for help when the elderly person cannot take care of their pet because, for example, they need hospital care for several days.

He indicated that they try to provide help to the users of the Care Hour in these cases as well, and they will look for animal welfare NGOs that can provide information and advice in such situations.

In the video, Péter Ovádi, the government commissioner responsible for animal protection, said that they will contact the animal protection organizations by letter and provide them with the opportunity to join the program.

Through the related organizations, the staff of the dispatch center can provide information about which organizations the elderly can turn to for help with their pets.
