Organizations that call themselves civilians carry out pure espionage activities in our country.
The CÖF-CÖKA (Civil Összefogas Fórom – Civil Összefogas Közhaznú Alapítvány) has put a locator to work monitoring NGOs and civil organizations, announced László Csizmadia, the president of the organization, at a press conference on Tuesday in Budapest.
László Csizmadia announced that the initiative, which can preserve and protect the interests of our country, was launched at the suggestion of "spiritual patriots" in connection with the Ki mit tud project of Átlátszó.hu. Átlátszó implemented more than 24,000 data requests and made the data available for anyone to browse, "so they can also serve foreign interests" , he explained.
"In addition to respecting democracy and the rule of law, we consider it justified to question, evaluate and comment on the so-called independence of NGOs funded from abroad"
the president stated.
He emphasized: asking for data is "not cheap fun" for taxpayers, and moreover, most of the time, it serves the interests of opposition parties.
"Data of public interest does not need to be hidden, but we declare that their open transfer to foreign interests may call into question the justifiability of the data request," said László Csizmadia, adding that the tens of thousands of data requests are considered a waste of public money, "especially if its effectiveness is highly disputed."
According to László Csizmadia, the damage to Hungary's sovereignty is also raised by the fact that "foreign currencies from abroad ensure investigative work."
"The activities of Átlátszó Ki mit tude are very similar to the III/III case department before the nineties," he stated.
Máté Tordai, the specialist coordinator of CÖF-CÖKA, said that their working group conducting the "research of foreign interests" sent questions to Átlátszó. In its answers to these, the organization admitted that it was handing over the information to international civil and other organizations, and even indicated that foreign sources have already arrived and will continue to arrive this year, he said. He added: the CÖF-CÖKA will notify the Sovereignty Protection Office about all this.
As he said, the next organization examined by the civil expert forum of CÖF-CÖKA is the K-Monitor Közhasznú Egyesület. He indicated that according to the 2021 and 2022 financial reports, various international organizations supported K-Monitor's activities with more than HUF 250 million. He pointed out that among the supporters was György Soros's foundation, the Open Society Foundations (OSF), as well as the National Endowment for Democracy, an American foundation close to the CIA associated with the Action for Democracy (A4D) organization, which took a leading role in the left's 2022 campaign financing scandal. (NED) too.
- In connection with the activities of K-Monitor, it is rightly raised whether it continues its activities along the lines of foreign interests, therefore CÖF-CÖKA sent its questions to the organization
explained Máté Tordai.
Among other things, the questions relate to whether K-Monitor has already carried out investigative work against Hungarian organizations from foreign sources, as well as whether Hungarian data is shared with foreign organizations, as well as how much foreign funds have come to the organization in 2023 and whether funds may come from until this year's elections.
Constitutional lawyer Zoltán Lomnici Jr., the spokesperson of the CÖF-CÖKA, said: after receiving K-Monitor's answers, their next task will be to investigate the activities of the Globsec organization.
- The activity of the Globsec organization - which is characterized by the name of the former Socialist Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai - raises issues of sovereignty protection - said Mr. Zoltán Lomnici at the press conference of the Civil Solidarity Forum - Civil Solidarity Public Foundation. The CÖF-CÖKA spokesperson emphasized that, in their opinion, the presence of spy organizations dressed in civilian clothes in Hungary is a scandal. As he said, this problem is not only a secret service issue, but also a civilian issue.
- Organizations that call themselves civilians carry out pure espionage activities in our country and cooperate with foreign secret services
underlined jr. Lomnici.
He drew attention to the fact that it is the task of sovereign civil organizations to deal with this issue, so Globsec's activities will be investigated in the near future. In connection with the CÖF-CÖKA's previous investigation, which covered Átlátszó, the spokesperson asked the question that if the request for data in the public interest is not an attack, then why the disclosure of its activities is considered an attack. - If Átráltszó served a clean, true cause, then there would have been no panic among Átráltszó that they wanted to deal with its activities - he added.
