The National Theater cooperates with the Parliament's Committee on National Cohesion.

The National Cohesion Committee of the National Assembly, the National Theater and the Rákóczi Association will form a closer, tripartite cooperation, the chairman of the committee announced at the press conference held after the board's remote meeting on Monday in the National Theater in Budapest.

Károly Pánczél (Fidesz) said that the committee received information from General Director Attila Vidnyánszky about the role played by the National Theater in national politics, its national rescue and preservation work, its activities across the border, and the acceptance of productions from Hungarian theaters across the border.

They also received a situation report on the war-torn Ukraine, the chairman of the committee continued.

He pointed out that the National Theater accepted the Beregsász troupe, but at the same time, there is still a Hungarian theater presence in Transcarpathia, as actors return, especially women, as men are threatened by being drafted.

Károly Pánczél added that part of the cooperation is that when visitors from across the border come to the Parliament through the committee, they are offered a visit to the National Theater or even a performance.

Students coming from across the border, organized by the Rákóczi Association, can also take advantage of the opportunity provided by the theater, indicated the chairman of the committee.

Csongor Csáky, the president of the Rákóczi Association, also emphasized that they strive for even closer relations with the theater.
