People must be made aware that we Hungarians cannot expect anything good from the increasingly strong extremist Romanian nationalists.

The openly anti-Hungarian behavior of the Association for the Unification of Romanians (AUR) encourages those who are anti-Hungarian themselves, but so far have not given space to their views in public - said lawyer Erika Benkő, one of the serious threats to society of the party led by George Simion. The Imre Mikó Legal Protection Service, led by him, summarized everything that the extremist party represents in the documentary Golden Horizons - The Rise of the AUR.

asked by maszol.ro about the purpose of making the film, Erika Benkő, head of the service, told maszol.ro that it was important to summarize and present together the AUR's anti-Hungarian expressions and related political activities.

"Besides the problems of everyday life, we tend to forget the continuous incitement of the AUR against the Hungarians and the existential threat that this organization poses to us. The documentary was a brutal hit, because framing and summarizing everything that AUR represents surprises the viewer. Our goal with this documentary is to shake up the Hungarian community by showing them how much of a threat this extreme political party and the movements associated with it pose to Hungarians."

- said the lawyer from Sepsiszentgyörgy.

As he said, he was alarmed by the increase in social support for AUR. Although Romanian mainstream parties themselves often play the Hungarian card, AUR's anti-Hungarianism goes beyond political expressions and political pranks.

"On the one hand, the AUR operates with an aggressive nationalism that openly states that Hungarians are unwelcome in the country, but in fact they do not shy away from physical aggression either, we saw this in the events in Úzvölgy, but the concept of physical altercation has already been brushed aside in the parliament by the fact that the AUR representatives attacked the representatives of the RMDSZ, more than once. One of the most important elements of the political program of the AUR is hatred of Hungarians, the stated and agreed goal of the AUR is the banning and termination of the RMDSZ and the complete suspension of minority rights, but they do not stop there, they would oblige Hungarians to swear loyalty to the Romanian state in such humiliating ways that I would fine anyone who refuses to kiss the Romanian flag on the holiday they envisioned, called the Day of Loyalty of National Minorities to the Romanian State, which the AUR wants to introduce and they have already made a bill to that end. So AUR has a specific hate program directed against Hungarians"

said the lawyer.

Erika Benkő said: AUR's openly anti-Hungarian behavior

it encourages those who themselves are anti-Hungarian, but so far have not given space to their views publicly.

He believed that it is also obvious that if an average Romanian person sees that anti-Hungarianism has become common in the country's most important political forums and has become part of the public discourse, then he himself will move in this direction on the one hand, and on the other hand, he will feel entitled to he should treat the Hungarians in a similar way, or have a similar opinion of them.
