Both he and the presidency of his party will remain in place even after the defeat in the EP elections, declared the president of the Democratic Coalition.
Despite being criticized by former and current left-liberal politicians, neither Ferenc Gyurcsány nor the party's leadership will resign after another election defeat on June 9. In an interview with Index, the president of the DK also stated that the policy he and his party represent is self-respecting, so the country should be proud that there is still such a political force as the Democratic Coalition (DK).
The president of the Democratic Coalition said in the program that there is not even a party behind those who attack him, and then the fallen prime minister turned to the Péter Magyar phenomenon.
He noted: he considers the vice-president of the Tisza Party to be personally and morally unfit, while 30 percent of the country would entrust their country to him.
"On this basis, my mother could also make films, because even she has not made a film, but she has already seen excellent films by Zoltán Várkonyi. The most important thing is that the prime minister should be someone who has not yet been alive, then there are still many prime ministers here - I just said this, or I just thought... almost..." - said Ferenc Gyurcsány.
The president of the DK also revealed what he thinks about the 2006 accountability formulated against him, while drawing a parallel between his own political work and Péter Magyar's activities so far.
“I'm not going to be told it's my fault again… me, me? ... while you took out millions, I was in front of the prosecutor's office? …me, me? …when I protested against the slave law, you borrowed millions and signed overpriced contracts? …you know what, mate? ...stand in line, then when it turns out that you risked half as much of your life as we did..., if it turns out that you fought half as much as we did, then you can speak...
in the meantime, thank your hands with a kiss, okay? …
and it's uninteresting that you have 30 percent... 30 percent belonged to a lot of damn political groups in Europe in the 20th century..." - expressed the opinion of the president of the Democratic Coalition.
Ferenc Gyurcsány also questioned the vice-chairman of the Tisza Party for his communication regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war.
"If you don't dare to speak about Russia, then you are a bad person, and a bad person should not explain to me where the future is," said the fallen prime minister.
The president of the DK - as Péter Magyar did recently - attacked the Hungarian press. According to Ferenc Gyurcsány, most of the so-called independent editorial offices are clearly anti-DK, and according to him, the main sin of the Hungarian press is to stand in the middle in the world of dictatorship and non-dictatorship.
