Making use of the names of Róbert Alföldi, Sándor Gáspár, and Krisztián Nyáry, the production of fake news is going on again, this time they envision the end of the drama department of Mihály Horváth High School in Szentes.
In the 2022 parliamentary election, Jobbikos, which won a mandate thanks to the left-wing prime minister candidate Péter Márki-Zay's proposal, and from 2023 Ferenc Varga, an independent member of parliament born in Szentes "What are they planning to do with the drama department of Horváth Mihály High School in Szentes?" addressed a question to Minister of the Interior Dr. Sándor Pintér. The answer was given by Bence Rétvári, which reveals that reorganizations took place in order to reduce the large tuition fee.
In his reply, the parliamentary secretary of state emphasizes that the left is again using the names of well-known people, such as Róbert Alföldi, Sándor Gáspár or Krisztián Nyáry, to create fake news, this time about the termination of the drama department of Mihály Horváth High School in Szentes.
The reality is that the purpose of the school's reorganization is only to reduce the high tuition fees.
At the same time, the reorganization does not affect the morning drama training, and the afternoon art training will be provided by the local László Lajtha Elementary School of Art in Szentesi from the next school year, for a significantly lower fee.
Bence Rétvári notes that the national high school also announced the literature-drama-media department during the admission process that started in October, to which 29 students were admitted. In addition, in the 2024/2025 school year, another 86 students will participate in the drama department in the various grades at the high school.
According to the practice so far, students enrolled in the drama department of Mihály Horváth High School in Szentes also "automatically" applied for the tuition-fee course held in the afternoon at the Keleti István Elementary School of Arts and Vocational High School of Arts (hereafter: KIMI). As a result, every year without admission, KIMI could definitely count on one class of art school students in each grade, all of whom also paid tuition. In addition, the amount of tuition paid is multiple times that of the local art school, writes the state secretary in his reply.
He continues:
On the basis of parental and institutional feedback, it can be said that previously the sessions were held for high school groups - without group breakdown, sometimes with a number of 30 people - and also the classes according to the timetable published on the KIMI website were not held in all cases.
The classes related to the high school drama training in the morning and the art training in the afternoon were taught by the same local teachers. The changes do not affect the morning drama training, the education will be carried out in the future in the same way and under the same conditions as before. From the next academic year, the László Lajtha Elementary Art School in Szentesi, which is maintained by the school district center, will - under the same conditions - provide afternoon art training for the students. The individual development of the students is thus ensured and the teachers can continue their work at a high professional level. Furthermore, all of this can be realized from the 2024/2025 academic year for a significantly lower reimbursement fee compared to the previous tuition.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the director of the high school explained the planned changes at the parents' meeting, and also informed the affected parents by letter after the reorganization decision. In addition, the principal discussed with the colleagues involved in the art training, according to which they will continue to count on their work if they wish to continue participating in the afternoon art training.
Based on the above, it can be said that the drama department will not be abolished in the high school with a long history. The primary aspect is the continuous provision of high-quality education for students.
