The Hungarian team participating in the pentathlon games in Paris, starting on July 24, took the Olympic oath in Budapest on Monday.

For us, the members of the Hungarian Olympic team are heroes, the best in their sport, role models - said the President of the Republic Tamás Sulyok at the solemn swearing of athletes traveling to the Paris Games on Monday in Müpa, Budapest.

It is a celebration of joy for the entire nation when a Hungarian athlete achieves world-renowned success with his participation in the Olympics, emphasized the President of the Republic.

He emphasized: the Olympics is a competition of competitions. This is when the most beautiful chapters of our sports history are born, and they are written by those who take the lead at the finish line, who decide peaks, who step onto the podium, in whose honor the Hungarian national anthem is played.

Tamás Sulyok expressed his gratitude that the Hungarians fought for participation among the world's best athletes, that they fight and show how to achieve peak performance.

People who can take their place among the world's top athletes, who are able to defeat others and themselves, who we are proud of, who make every Hungarian heart beat at the same time, the head of state pointed out.

Tamás Sulyok emphasized that millions of our compatriots are rooting for the victory of the Hungarian athletes and for the best possible performance.

With their struggle, they bring untold joy to the Hungarian people, they also give an unforgettable experience to those children who see you as role models and heroes to follow, and who, following the example of the Hungarian contestants of the Paris Olympics, are now planning their own future, he said.

Their participation in the Olympics brings the nation together - emphasized the President of the Republic,

adding: they give us all strength, they show that there is only one Hungarianness, that we belong together. Walls that should never separate people from people, Hungarians from Hungarians, will then become invisible, he added.

Tamás Sulyok emphasized: Hungary needs Hungarian sports experiences and great athletes who increase and refresh the nation's self-confidence and faith in its own community, Olympians who show the strength of our nation.

He reminded: Hungary has returned home with gold as many times as it has participated in the Olympics, and we won an average of seven gold medals.

We trust that they will hang many shiny medals around their necks, said the President of the Republic.

On Monday, the Hungarian team participating in the pentathlon games in Paris took the Olympic oath in Budapest.

The text of the pledge was delivered by three-time Olympic champion swordsman Áron Szilágyi and world and European champion swimmer Kapás Boglárka at the ceremony held in the Palace of Arts, where Olympic champion wrestler Tamás Lőrincz held the Hungarian flag between them.

Zsolt Gyulay, the president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB), in his greeting, asked the athletes not to experience the Olympic participation as a burden, but as an opportunity in order to get the most out of themselves.

The top leader of the MOB also revealed that handball player Blanka Böde-Bíró and juggler Krisztián Tóth will carry the Hungarian flag at the opening on July 26.

The Paris Olympics will be held between July 26 and August 11. Hungary has 180 quotas or participation levels for the Summer Games in 21 sports.
