You can apply until midnight on Sunday, July 14, for the new call for the Sándor Kőrösi Csoma Program, which supports Diaspora Hungarians, and the Sándor Petőfi Program, which supports scattered Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin, announced the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister's Office.
The State Secretariat launched the Csoma Sándor Kőrösi Program in 2013, and the Sándor Petőfi Program in 2015, in order to help Hungarian communities living far from the motherland, in the diaspora or scattered, with scholarship recipients.
Within the framework of the two programs, more than a thousand scholarship recipients have served in many countries around the world.
As part of the new call, applicants for the Sándor Kőrösi Csoma Program can submit applications to the following countries: United States of America, Europe (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, United Kingdom, North Macedonia, Finland, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Poland, Germany, Norway, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden), Israel, Canada and Turkey.
The target countries of the Sándor Petőfi Program are Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
Hungarian citizens who are committed to the nation, have reached the age of 18, have no criminal record, have at least a secondary education, are proficient in scouting, tradition preservation, training, education and other community organizing activities and have a high level of English can apply for both programs. An additional advantage is knowing the language of the destination country at least at a conversational level.
