The Italian boxer who gave up the competition against his biologically male opponent bids farewell to boxing.
Despite the encouragement, the Italian female boxer who was defeated by the biological male Algerian boxer announced her retirement, Nemzeti Sport reports.
Angela Carini said in an interview:
Not only his nose was broken, his heart was also broken. He bids farewell to boxing.
The world is rooting for Luca Hámori today
It is no exaggeration to say that one of the most anticipated matches of the Paris Olympics will take place on Saturday at 17:22, when Luca Hámori will enter the ring for Hungary and his opponent, Imane Khelif from Algeria, whose last match lasting 46 seconds caused a huge scandal. The boxer, who was born and lives as a woman, has already been banned from the World Cup in 2022 after a gender test revealed that she has an XY chromosome due to a genetic disorder.
However, the Olympic Committee does not conduct such tests, so Imane Khelif was able to qualify as a female competitor for the Olympic Games without any obstacles, but most people feel that this is unfair to other female competitors. This case does not divide people at all, the majority is clearly of the opinion that the Algerian athlete should be excluded from the competition and the IOC should apologize to the Italian boxer, who announced his retirement after the match drowned in scandal. Despite the situation, Luca Hámori said that he will take on the match with Imane Khelif, he will stand against him in the ring, and because of this, everyone is now talking about him and Saturday's match.
Because of this, an interesting and unexpected turn of events took place in this matter, because it has never happened before at the Olympics that everyone in the world cheered for a Hungarian athlete, and this is the first time this is happening.
We looked around a bit on social media, we were curious about how the media of other nations write about this case and what the citizens of other countries think about it, and we came across the shocking thing that everyone is hoping for the victory of Luca Hámori. The American Fox News also reported on the Olympic scandal, and under their article we found such comments from the Americans:
"I pray for the Hungarian girl, I hope she wipes the floor with this filth"
"What Luca Hámori is doing shows great courage. I hope he wins"
"I'm not Hungarian, but now I support them. Come on Luca Hámori!"
But people are talking about this not only in America, but also in China and Russia, for example. In these countries too, everyone unanimously supports the Hungarian athlete, so we can truly say that for the first time Hungary is paying attention and the whole world is excited for our country's athlete.
Because of this, Luca Hámori can already be said to be a winner, because if he wins the match, even if he doesn't, he will be called the hero of the Paris Olympics, and he will be written about everywhere. The boxer has already written sports history anyway, as she is the first female Hungarian boxer to qualify for the Olympics.
