The situation in the war going on in our neighborhood is getting more and more tense.

Belarus sent tanks to the border with Ukraine on Sunday after Belarusian authorities claimed that several Ukrainian drones had been shot down in the country's airspace the previous day, the Ministry of Defense in Minsk said. According to the official information, the formations were put on standby to carry out further orders.

Not long before, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko ordered the reinforcement of the Homel and Mazir regions in the southeastern part of the country. The task of the teams is to respond to possible Ukrainian "provocations".

On Saturday, Lukashenko reported that several Ukrainian drones had been shot down. As he said, the Belarusian air defense was also put on full alert, because about ten aircraft penetrated from Ukraine into the country's airspace in the area of Kaschukovich.

What determines whether killing civilians is a war crime or self-defense?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk called what happened a dangerous attempt to drag Belarus into the conflict. The ministry stated: Belarus will exercise its right to self-defense and will respond appropriately to all provocations and hostile acts. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Hrenyin already indicated on Saturday that Iskander-type ballistic missiles and Polonez-type rocket launchers had been ordered to be sent to the region.
