Kayakist Péter Pál Kiss defended his title and won a gold medal in the KL1 category, 200 meters on Saturday's competition day of the Paris Paralympics.

Róbert Suba, the silver medalist in Rio eight years ago, finished in fourth place.

The 21-year-old world and European champion competitor of the Budapest Defense Force already secured his place in the final from Friday's preliminaries, in which he achieved overwhelming success. He took the lead right at the start, and after 80 meters he started his boat and won with an amazing lead of almost two seconds.

Pál Péter Kiss is thus already a two-time Paralympic champion, as well as a four-time world and four-time European champion.

The other Hungarian in the number, Róbert Suba, silver medalist in Rio eight years ago, also competed brilliantly and finished fourth on the course in Vaires-sur-Marne.
