The outstanding figure of Hungarian progressive rock and jazz rock, Ádám Török, singer, flutist, songwriter, has passed away. He died in his sleep at the age of 75.

The Péter Máté award-winning singer, flautist and songwriter celebrated his 75th birthday in January and would have given a birthday concert at the Erkel Theater on May 8.

Ádám Török was born on January 12, 1948 in Budapest. He first learned to play the flute privately, then completed the preparatory jazz course at the Bartók Béla Music Academy. He started playing music in a high school band in 1965.

In 1968, he became the singer of the band Dogs, and in the same year he founded the band Mini. In 1972, they performed with LGT and Syrius at the first Taban party. After member changes, Mini's style moved towards jazz rock.

Between 1976 and 1978, Mini played in the Buda Youth Park on the famous "rock Tuesdays" with P. Mobil in front of an audience of five to six thousand, in addition, Tabán and Bem played a prominent role on the Hungarian rock scene for many years as the main characters of the rock party. The party-state record factory management at the time prevented the release of Mini's first LP for a long time, the first material entitled Back to the City was finally released in 1978.

The Mini was discontinued from November 1983. Ádám Török first founded Mini RC (Robot Company) and then Tátrai Török Tandem. The period between 1987-1990 was the solo era of Ádám Török, he toured the United States, Switzerland, Italy and Austria. In 1991, together with János Závodi, he founded RABB (Rhythm and Blues Branch).

In February 1998, Ádám Török revived the Mini. In 2017, a concert album produced by his band Mini Acoustic World was released under the title Bartók On Rock. In 2018, the band Mini's first album was released on CD for the first time, as well as the three subsequent tracks from the band's "silver age".

In 2017, Ádám Török was awarded the civilian division of the Hungarian Order of Merit, the Péter Máté Award in 2019, and the Phonogram Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
