Telex started an awkward explanation because they misinterpreted the words of economist Imre Boros. The prelude to what happened was an interview given by the former minister a few days ago, in which the American sanctions imposed on the International Investment Bank were discussed.

The interview given to Hír TV was also reported by Telex, from which the following sentence was highlighted:

"If they want to hit Russia, they hit one of its allies, Hungary." Based on this, the article was published with the title: "The Hungarian board member of the spy bank admitted: Hungary is currently an ally of Russia."

According to the portal, however, three days after the publication of the interview and the article, news began to spread on the Internet that Imre Boros, who is a member of the board of the International Investment Bank, did not say that. As a result, Telex listened once more to exactly how the former minister phrased it. Imre Boros said the following:

Hír TV: How did you take the American announcement of sanctions against the International Investment Bank?

Imre Boros:

I think you guys are one step behind. Because if they want to hit Russia, they are actually hitting one of their allies, Hungary, that is, we have been the number one shareholder of this bank for quite some time.

The board member of the International Investment Bank confirmed to Telex that his sentence was misinterpreted, in which he spoke of Hungary as an ally of the United States. He later added that he was referring to the NATO alliance, because according to him, the United States mainly punished fellow members Romania and Bulgaria with the sanctions, in addition to Hungary.
