On September 21 and 22, the 70th Nations World Cup was held on the Canal d'Aire near Béthune, France. Teams from 27 nations competed in the competition organized by the French Sport Fishing Association. The Hungarian national team has traditionally been at the top, this year László Csillag won the individual world championship title.

This year's World Fishing Championship was won by Croatia's national team with 31 points, the Italian national team won the silver medal with 40 points, and the host team France finished third with 43 points, according to the report of the Hungarian National Fishing Association (Mohosz).

On the other hand, there was a huge Hungarian success in the individual: László Csillag won the world championship title.

The Hungarian team finished the competition in fourth place with 46 points.

Béla Sénási – assistants; Csaba Polyák is the team leader.

In the individual competition, the 3-point Wiktor Walczak (Poland) finished in second place, who was ahead of the also 3-point Matija Krajevatc (Croatia), who won the bronze medal with just a catch.

Mohosz thanked the partner ministries (Ministry of Agriculture and National Defense), organizations and companies of the national and "Hungarian Team" trade association sports support system for their support, as well as the help of all employees and volunteers who contributed to the preparation of the teams. All Hungarian competitors and sports leaders are heartily congratulated for their outstanding performances.
