Since the child protection law passed last year, it has become practically impossible to educate and sensitize the youth, within the new legal framework, it is necessary to find the possibility to continue the enlightenment and sensitizing programs among the youth - it can be read in the equal opportunities program of Józsefváros led by András Pikó until 2028 . According to the document, this age group is particularly vulnerable, but on the other hand, it is still open and can be shaped in the direction of accepting a non-prejudiced attitude. Among the goals to be achieved, the Józsefváros program mentions naming public spaces after LGBTQ people.

In the district's previous equal opportunity program adopted by the Fidesz leadership, the LGBTQ minority was "inexplicably" not mentioned, and the current municipality is already approaching the issue of sexual difference with a radically different approach, according to Józsefváros' equal opportunity program until 2028. According to the document

recent government communication and legislation that conflates homosexuality with pedophilia has a particularly adverse effect on the life, legal equality and safety of LGBTQ people, which has led to an increase in the number of hate crimes and homophobic attacks.

It can also be read in the program that "since the child protection law passed last year, it has become practically impossible to educate and sensitize the youth", but - as it was written - "it is necessary to find the possibility to continue the enlightenment and sensitizing programs among the youth." This age group is particularly vulnerable, but on the other hand, it is still open and can be shaped in the direction of accepting a non-prejudiced attitude."

"No, dear mayor András Pikó! You don't have to find the opportunity to continue this propaganda among the youth! Minors are decided by their parents, not you. As the father of two children from Józsefváros, I ask you not to look for such an opportunity! Don't spend public money on this! We, the residents of the district, would be more than enough if you had the streets cleaned," responded Máté Kocsis, leader of the Fidesz parliamentary group and former mayor of Józsefváros.

"Since 2019, the Józsefváros municipality has consistently stood up for the equality of LGBTQ people," the program reads. In 2020 and 2021, the municipality displayed the rainbow flag on the mayor's office to express its solidarity with LGBTQ people in connection with Pride month and homophobic legislation." As it was written, the Józsefváros municipality intends to provide the LGBTQ community with more opportunities to appear in the local public, partly through concrete measures and partly through everyday practice.

Promotes the active participation of LGBTQ people in public life, the appearance of topics related to LGBTQ people in local public forums, the creation of memorial places in public spaces that commemorate the past of the LGBTQ movement, but also considers naming public spaces possible in the future

- can be read in the program.
