We have become so isolated that today only the Hungarian Prime Minister can speak to the leaders of the world's most powerful power poles at the same time. Written by Péter Szijjártó.

We live in an age of danger, the world is entering a completely new economic and political era before our eyes. To an era where nothing is (will be) the same as it was before.

There is (still) war in Europe, we have been living under the pressure of illegal migration for almost a decade, European politics has been mired in political correctness, and the international liberal mainstream has launched another desperate attack to move the old continent into the post-national and post-Christian era.

In recent years, there were few of us (in fact, mostly alone) here in Europe who dared to openly take on the struggle. There were few of us (in fact, mostly alone) who accepted that the three goals of the national foreign policy were the preservation of sovereignty, the promotion of peace and the maintenance of economic neutrality. We were constantly attacked (are being attacked) for all of this, that is, for everything. Both from outside and inside the country.

We have often had the feeling that the liberal mainstream has nothing else to do but to plow Hungarian (foreign) policy every day.

Why do we talk about peace, why do we maintain relations with Russia, why do we encourage Chinese companies to invest in Hungary, why do we veto resolutions criticizing Israel, why do we not condemn Arab countries in the matter of human rights enforcement, why do we go after Brussels over illegal migration, why is the prime minister meeting the 45th president of the united states?

The facts - as is usually the case - were (are) not really of interest to the notorious questioners and crooners. Because let's see!

• They were not interested in the fact that it was proven: the European (and American) war strategy was a serious failure, they were not interested in the fact that the arms deliveries did not lead to the advance of the Ukrainians on the battlefield, but to the death of many more people, that the sanctions do not work, that the the destruction. They were unable to understand that the closing of the channels of communication meant the total abandonment of the hope of peace.

• They were not interested in the fact that we had no energy supply problems even during the most difficult period and that we were able to protect the utility reduction.

• They were not interested in the fact that the most modern German and Chinese factories are being built in Hungary because of each other and next to each other, creating tens of thousands of jobs and ensuring the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of Hungarians.

• They were not interested in the fact that during the Middle East conflict we were able to bring everyone home from Israel, three Hungarian hostages were released in the first round, and the Hungarians living in Gaza were also among the first to leave the area.

• They were not interested in the fact that we were able to stop the influx of hundreds of thousands of aggressive, military-clad people, and prevented scenes like those in Germany, Belgium or Sweden's metropolitan "no-go" zones from happening here.

The difference is more and more striking:

the Israeli football team plays its "home" matches in Hungary, and a manhunt against Israeli football fans began on the streets of the largest city in the Netherlands. And the image of the notorious naysayers and critics didn't fade even when they tried to make the man who presented the greatest comeback in American history appear in a demonic costume.

With a wide array of legal, political, media and financial attacks, they wanted (and want) to drag us into the pro-war, surrendering sovereignty, admitting migrants, bowing to aggressive gender propaganda political mainstream.

We have resisted: we have successfully kept our country out of the war for three years, we have not (let's) give up even a small piece of our sovereignty, there are no migrants here, and LGBT activists cannot confuse children's thoughts either.

They lied about us, that we were isolated... To say such stupidity even in today's international political debate, which is not of a very high standard, is a feat...

We are so isolated that I dare to risk it (it's true, there's no need to risk it), today only the Hungarian Prime Minister can speak to the leaders of the world's strongest poles of power at the same time: the presidents of the United States (45th and 47th), the People's Republic of China, Russia, and Turkey and the Prime Minister of Israel.

In fact, we are so isolated that in the last two days every European leader visited us here in Budapest.

We organized the biggest diplomatic events in Hungary's history with the summit meeting of the European Political Community and the meeting of the European Council.

This is where the leaders of the Western world gathered just two days after Donald Trump's overwhelming victory in the US presidential election.

This result also means that we are surrounded by a new reality: the old clichés do not work, the repetition of familiar positions leads nowhere. And it was good to hear at the opening plenary session of the European Political Community that several people recognized this. It was good to hear the fresh, honest, reality-recognizing, brave voices. And the fact that these voices almost all came from outside the European Union... well, that only shows that we still have (will) still have plenty of work to do.

Postscript: many people in the corridors congratulated us on Tuesday's result... for us... Hmmm, the Hungarians are not right, but they will be right...
