The joint fundraising campaign of the National Association of Large Families (NOE) and the CBA and Príma store network was successfully completed, with 10.5 tons of donations collected, the NOE announced on Friday.
The action called "Young people for families with small children" was held for the ninth time. With the collection, they help those families with small children who are particularly burdened by the end of the year and the approach of the holidays. During the collection, tons of food and other donations are collected every year, so they can help more and more families with gift packages made from donations.
The program took place over two weekends in November at a total of 26 locations across the country.
NOE and CBA have once again asked customers to buy one or two more products than they need and to drop them off at the store's collection points.
Nearly 500 young people with large families from the youth section of NOE participated in the collection. Thanks to the generous donors, a total of 10.5 tons of donations were collected this year, surpassing the records of previous years, from which they can make the holidays more beautiful for nearly 600 families with small children.
Herbert Gábor, president of the NOE, said in the announcement: "One of the measures of the success of the action is the weight of the food collected. The other result is much more difficult to demonstrate, although it may be more important for future society. Namely, the positive change that their participation in this charity action brings about in our young people."
Attila Fodor, CBA's communications director, said in the statement that he is very happy that, together with the National Association of Large Families, they are able to help more and more families in need every year as the year draws to a close.
"Thank you to the organization, the many young and enthusiastic volunteers, and also a big thank you to our customers, who offered this much food and household chemicals. We will continue next year, we count on everyone!"
