The plans of the Hungarian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense include that by 2030, about 10 armed forces secondary schools and colleges will start operating in Hungary, the Ministry of Defense said in today's statement.

After the Kratochvil Károly Honvéd Secondary School in Debrecen, founded in 1992, the list of defense secondary schools and colleges was expanded for the first time with the Nyíregyházi Mikecz Kálmán Honvéd College, which was handed over this summer. In the next school year, the Hódmezővásárhely Honvéd Secondary School and College (hereinafter referred to as HHKK) will also start operating.

The students of the independent, multi-purpose vocational training institution supported in the framework of the Modern Cities Program will be accommodated in the dormitory of the MH 5th Bocskai István Lövészdandár Miklós Zrínyi barracks in hódmezővásárhely. In national defense high schools and colleges, in accordance with the currently effective vocational training and public education law, students' high-level national defense education takes place within the framework of the boarding system, according to a unique program. The students do not receive military training, they do not have military status, and it is not mandatory for them to choose a military career either. After completing their secondary school studies, cadets also have the opportunity to enroll in civilian higher education institutions.

In the 2022/2023 academic year, at the Vocational Training Center in Hódmezővásárhely, you can apply for the Army Cadet sectoral vocational training, the Infocommunications Network Builder and Operator technician vocational course, as well as the Army Cadet general knowledge training (high school, increased number of hours of English language training). Eighth grade students who choose a career path can apply to the institution within the framework of the general secondary school admission procedure. The central written exam (Hungarian language and mathematics) is mandatory for applicants, and the institution also conducts an oral admission and a physical fitness assessment. More information is available on the Kratochvil Károly Honvéd Secondary School and College website.
