The museums and libraries of the Public Collections Center of the Hungarian National Museum prepare an experience calendar, that is, twenty-four Advent programs for their visitors between December 1st and 24th across the country.

Among the special programs is the Advent family day called Csengőszó, which starts the series on the first of December, at the Hungarian National Museum, where the festive atmosphere of the olden times will come to life, the museum announced on Thursday.

In the festive world of imperial courts, noble palaces and bourgeois homes, families are also welcomed with puzzles, treasure hunts, handicrafts and communal candle lighting.

On December 4, art historian Ildikó Horányi, chief museologist at the Semmelweis Museum of Medical History tells the story of Saint Borbála, the patron saint of miners, under the title The saint who was freed from the tower, but still stuck in the belly of the earth.

On December 12, a candlelit guided tour will be held at the Castle Museum in Esztergom, where those interested can get to know some of the castle's rooms and their functions.

The Visegrád marble angels will find a new home in the renewed permanent exhibition of the King Matthias Museum - Royal Palace, so on December 14th the angels will have the main role in the informative lecture of Gergely Buzás, the archaeologist and museum director, as well as in the museum pedagogy sessions.

On December 17, the public is invited to a guided tour of the exhibition The Shining Experience - unique jewels from the Paleolithic Age to the present day! in the exhibition at the Hungarian National Museum.
