A Christmas market in Germany ended in tragedy again, when a car drove into the crowd at the Magdeburg fair. The provincial government told public media MDR that many people were injured and that the attack was deliberate. Many paramedics, police and firemen rushed to the scene of the bloody attack, so far 11 dead and at least 60 injured. A surveillance camera recorded the attack, the driver drove through the people without braking - panic immediately broke out in the fair.

The driver was detained by the police, his identity is not yet known, the German N-Tv news television reported.

According to N-Tv's report, the police and the ambulance service went to the scene with great force, and the paramedics began treating around 60-80 injured people of various degrees.

In Germany, the period of Christmas markets (end of November and December) is particularly dangerous, as this Christian holiday is a particularly attractive period for Islamist extremists.

On December 19, 2016, rejected Tunisian asylum seeker Anis Amri drove a truck into a crowded Christmas market in Berlin. The Islamist attacker killed 12 people and wounded 48 others. The Tunisian man was shot four days later in Italy during an identity check.
