It is slowly becoming a tradition in our country that on the occasion of the new year, on the first day of the year, people dive en masse into icy lakes and rivers.

Crowds took a dip in Orfűn's icy water on the first day of the year: the more than ten-year-old New Year's Splash, which started in 2014 and has now become a tradition, did not miss out on Orfűn this time, the Baranya Vármegyei Hírportál wrote on the newspaper's social page. The square in front of the Szomjas Vándor buffet, located at the dam of Lake Pécsi in Orfű, was full on a cool Wednesday morning.

Bama wrote about the event, according to the organizers, more than 250 people registered and took part in the ice splash this year, which according to the participants was the coldest so far.

Based on the on-site recordings made by the newspaper, the shore of Lake Pécsi in Orfű was indeed almost full on Wednesday morning.
