Time Out, one of the most influential international program recommendation magazines, has chosen the House of Hungarian Music as one of the 22 best cultural attractions in the world to be realized in 2022, Városliget Zrt announced.

The top list, whose 2nd place was won by the House of Hungarian Music, realized in the Liget Budapest project, included the novelties that Time Out recommends as the outstanding new locations and events of the new year for international tourism.

The summary recalls that the Hungarian Music House finished in second place, among other things, in front of cultural world sensations such as the Museum of Broadway in New York, the Museum of Modern Art in Istanbul, the Art Center in Taiwan and the Great Egyptian Museum in Cairo, including Tutankhamun's tomb with its entire findings. The magazine ranked the Paris museum presenting the oeuvre of the French singer-composer Serge Gainsbourg in first place.

as a music initiation institution with unique complexity in the world, it will open its doors to the public at the end of January.

The house designed by the Japanese star architect, Fujimoto Sou, offers an unmistakable sight with its organically undulating, perforated roof structure and huge glass walls, it is no coincidence that the international profession considers it one of the most anticipated new buildings worldwide, the announcement reads.

The new institution, hidden among the trees of the Városliget and in a special harmony with its surroundings, will open countless musical experiences to its visitors from the beginning of next year with its diverse program offer.

The House of Hungarian Music was built on the site of the former destroyed Hungexpo office buildings, and in the vicinity of the new building, around 7,000 square meters of green space, closed off and neglected for decades, has been renewed and will once again become the freely accessible park area of ​​the Városliget.

The announcement reminds us that this is not the first time that the building of the Hungarian Music House has been noticed by the international profession, its realization has been surrounded by serious attention worldwide since the beginning:

both CNN and the World Architecture Community (WAC) declared it one of the most anticipated new buildings of 2021.

Already based on its plans, the house was chosen as the best public building in Europe in 2019 at the prestigious International Property Awards in London, which is one of the largest and most widely recognized awards in the real estate industry. And in 2020, it received the main prize for the world's best music-themed development: the award for the best music-themed real estate development in the American Music Cities Awards.
