Pensions will increase by 3.2 percent from January, and the 13th monthly pension with an increased amount will also arrive in February.

The government guarantees the inflation-adjusted pension increase this year as well. As inflation of 3.2 percent is expected this year, the amount of the pension increase is also the same. In the case of an average pension of 234,000 forints, this means an increase of about 7,500 forints per month, and almost 90,000 forints annually, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation announced in a video published on the government's Facebook page on Saturday.

Róbert Zsigó also drew attention to the fact that the first pension with an increased amount will be transferred to the pensioners on January 10, and in February the 13th monthly pension with an increased amount will also be sent to the elderly.

We will therefore keep our word, as we have kept it every year - said Róbert Zsigó, adding that "not only do we guarantee the increase in line with inflation, but we also returned the 13th monthly pension taken away by the left".

He said: Brussels is waiting for the abolition of the 13th month pension from the government, but this will not be implemented.

Especially not that the Hungarian people asked the government to protect the 13th-month pension in the national consultation that just ended, emphasized the state secretary.

So the 13th monthly pension will remain, the increased pension will arrive, and at the cost of serious battles, but the government will also protect the utility reduction, so Hungarian pensioners pay the lowest electricity and gas prices in Europe.

At the end of the video, Róbert Zsigó wished the elderly a happy New Year. "I wish them peace, health and much joy in their retirement years! Take care!” said the state secretary.
