As is known, a tripartite meeting took place in Budapest yesterday. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Matteo Salvini, the leader of the Italian right-wing government party, the League, and Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Afterwards, Viktor Orbán said in his briefing:
They met now because Fidesz decided to leave the European People's Party (EPP), and now they are planning the future together , talking about the future of Europe.
He reminded: According to Matteo Salvini's formulation, they want a European renaissance, for which they will work together in the future.
He believed that there are many millions of European citizens who are left without adequate and effective representation in Europe because the EPP has committed itself to long-term cooperation with the European left.
According to Viktor Orbán, it is symbolic that the cooperation is being launched on Maundy Thursday, the current meeting is the first stop of a long journey.
