This is how the Catholic faithful greet each other at Easter, since the greatest celebration of Christians is the resurrection of Christ, which is today. That is why the Easter holiday does not last for one, but eight days, and the Easter period lasts until Pentecost, that is, the resurrection of Jesus is celebrated for fifty days.

A celebratory mass is held on Easter Sunday morning, although due to the epidemic, just like last year, this year too, the ceremony takes place without the faithful or with the participation of very few people. There are many traditions associated with Easter Sunday, such as the tradition of consecrating food, which is still held in many places.

According to the old custom, the faithful went to the morning mass with a covered basket containing lamb, bread, eggs, ham and wine. The Easter lamb symbolizes the sacrifice of Jesus, the wine the blood of Christ. The egg is a symbol of rebirth. At the same time, the whole boiled egg also symbolizes family togetherness. According to Hungarian folk tradition, family members had to eat Easter eggs together, so that if they ever got lost in life, they would always remember who they had Easter meals with and always find their way home.
