The left-wing unity has reached another fork in the road, as more and more opposition politicians admit that their campaign against Eastern vaccines was a mistake. Even Péter Medgyessy, the former prime minister of the left, criticized the DK's anti-vaccination statements.

István Ujhelyi, the EP representative of the MSZP, made a video interview with Péter Medgyessy on his YouTube channel. During the conversation, the former prime minister also responded to the left's anti-vaccination accusations. During this, in response to Ujhelyi's question, he said: in his opinion, due to the upcoming 2022 election, the promotion of the anti-vaccination of the left will be part of the government's campaign, which will thus remain in the shaping of public opinion, which is very, very bad, at the same time he added: although for the sake of honor I must add that DK made a mistake.

"The mistake is that he started saying that we should not accept the Chinese vaccine, nor the Russian one, until there is a European Union certificate for it. This may even have been a good intention for a while, and I don't want to dispute that. When it turned bad, it was when it turned out that vaccination had started, and it also went in that direction, and indeed, it brought a lot of success to Hungary. Then someone from DK should have stood up and said [...] that we are sorry, we were wrong."

Mandiner quoted the interview with the former prime minister.

Regarding the appearance of the Chinese Fudan University in Budapest, Medgyessy believes that it is a good initiative, but the project is "distorted" somewhere. From the point of view of national security, he does not consider the arrival of the Chinese university to be a concern. Any university can be a spy center, he said. The construction of Fudan University can also be a good step from the point of view of knowledge policy, as it is among the top 40 universities in the world and can bring a lot of knowledge and research to Hungary.
