In a moving video, American doctor Dr. Steve Hammond testifies that during his forty years of practice as an obstetrician-gynecologist, he helped birth 4,000 children, but took the lives of 7,000 fetuses. In the short film, he also talks about when he realized that what he was doing was a sin, and what changed his life forever.

Abby Johnsson, former Planned Parenthood abortion worker turned pro-lifer, posted a heartfelt video today. In the short film, Dr. Steve Hammond tells the story of his life. Abby commented on the short film: her friend's story is a shining example that the hope, love and saving power of Christ is for everyone.

In the video, the doctor tells us that during his 40 years of practice, he helped deliver 4,000 babies and performed about 7,000 abortions at the beginning of his career. As a religious woman, her mother told her about Christ when she was very young, but to no avail. The 1960s were a period of rebellion. The young people wanted to experience freedom, even though - as he puts it - true freedom does have limits. Already in her teens, she knew she would become a doctor, and after graduating from university, she became a master of induced abortions.

In the short film, he explains exactly how the abortion takes place. According to him, it is important to talk about this because we always only talk about abortion on an abstract, abstract level, and we never face the cruel reality.

It also shows the device that is connected to a powerful vacuum during an abortion, which is inserted into the mother's womb to suck out the fetuses.

According to him, this vacuum is 20-30 times stronger than a conventional vacuum cleaner. If the pregnancy is older than six weeks, then the fetus must be destroyed so that it can be sucked out through the thin device, in pieces... It was at a moment like this that he realized for the first time what he was really doing. Crying, she recounts how she started the abortion when she was already five months pregnant, inserted the device into the uterus up to the fetus, when something happened that shocked her and made her think:

"The fetus kicked me. It was then that I realized for the first time that what we remove during an abortion is actually a human life".

It was not this that brought about the complete change for her, but years later the birth of her third child, who was born at 26 weeks, weighing little more than one kilogram, but miraculously survived. Steve Hammond first thought about the fact that the same doctors who fought for the life of his 26-week-old premature son could end the life of a fetus of the same age.

“This is why I became a pro-lifer. I realized: it doesn't matter how many weeks of pregnancy it is, it's already a child"

he confesses in the video.

Almost a decade later, he really turned to Christ. At the end of the video, she says to those who have already had an abortion, or to those who perform abortions, that "there is a better way", and that is none other than Jesus Christ.

“They see these hands: These hands have destroyed more than 7,000 fetuses. Those 7,000 fetuses are talking about me now"

he says tearfully in the video, confessing that he knows that Christ has forgiven him. Jesus took our sins with him when he died for us on the cross. He forgives all of us if we repent of our sins and ask for his mercy. Finally, he quotes from St. Paul's second letter to the Corinthians, proving that there is always a new beginning:

"Everyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old has ceased, something new has been realized".
