Germany is buying 30 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine developed against the new type of coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), German news portals reported on Thursday.

According to the reports, Michael Kretschmer, the head of the state government of Saxony, informed about the purchase in Moscow after he discussed with the Minister of Health Mihail Murasko.

He said that according to the planned schedule, ten million doses will be purchased in June, July and August. The condition of the purchase is that the Russian product has an EU distribution permit.

Michael Kretschmer pointed out that there will certainly be a great willingness to administer the Russian vaccine in his province in the eastern part of Germany, in the territory of the former GDR.
