The 40 Days for Life movement of prayer, fasting and peaceful presence was created in America so that conceived children could be born. Thanks to the prayers of its members and the grace of God, eighteen thousand babies were born worldwide, more than a hundred abortion facilities were closed, and hundreds of health workers gave their lives to God.

Vasárnap.hu spoke with the Hungarian organizer of the movement, Józsefné Magdolna Hajdani. Here are some thoughts from the article, which you can read here.

For the first time in 2017, at Szent István Hospital, we prayed for 12 hours a day, for 40 days. I experienced how much God was on our side. We thought there would be few of us, but there wasn't an hour when someone wasn't praying on the spot. After that, the thought of organizing another one did not let me rest. I was guided by the fact that, as Christians, we must stand up for fetuses, because they cannot speak up for themselves.(...)

There are life-saving organizations and helplines, but they are less well-known. Women in difficult situations often do not even find out about them. We tell them where there are maternity homes or what support they can use. We bring them together with organizations that, for example, give baby clothes or organize open adoptions. (…)

Our work is also evangelism.
If he is open to it - because this should not be forced - then we will help lead him to God. Most of all, we have to tell with our lives that Jesus lives in us. It is important not to judge, but only to observe what we can do so that the desperate woman takes courage and dares to become a mother. We want to give them the message that God never gives us a bigger challenge than we can handle.

As Christians, we must say that innocent life should not be taken. Where this is not done, the place is cursed. (…)

I myself went through an abortion and then fell into depression, from which God rescued me. I only found out later that the root of this depression was the abortion. I couldn't reconcile with him. Every year I remembered how old that child would be. Then, in my despair, I thought I couldn't have a fourth child in addition to my three other children, because I wouldn't be able to raise him. Today I think quite differently. Children need love the most, not lots of presents. We must be able to rely on God. He is a winner. We can solve everything with him. (…)

We share all information about 40 days for life on our Facebook page, it's worth following. Everyone can find where we pray there. Our plan is to organize prayers in several cities. We hope it will be successful in as many places as possible! As Christians, we must speak out for the value of life so that babies can be born and the number of abortions decreases. In the Old Testament we can read: if I know what is right, but I don't say it, then God will hold me accountable.
