Who would have thought that math teacher László Mérő would also sit in on the "Preliminaries" program of the Pest cabaret and even give tips.

According to Mér, the organizers of the primary election, who are enthusiastic and highly respected by him , believe that if they succeed in mobilizing enough people for the primary election, there will be many more people than possible Fidesz trolls, and then the result of the primary election will be credible and convincing. "Unfortunately, this is wrong math," he says. "I'll skip the gist, then let the calculation come:

A hundred thousand conscious Fidesz participants in the opposition primaries may be enough to change the will of up to two million genuine opposition voters!

For example, let's imagine the following situation: Karácsony, Dobrev and Jakab remain for the second round of the primary election. For the sake of simplicity, let's play now with only these three names and the specific numbers below, the general math is a little more complicated, but this example shows the essence well.

Everything happens as the organizers hope, and they succeed in mobilizing 2 million opposition voters for the second round of the primary election. In our example, they now vote for Karácsony, Dobrev and Jakab in the ratio of 750,000 – 650,000 – 600,000. This quite convincingly shows the clear will of the voters and justifies everyone lining up behind Karácsony.

Now let's imagine that Orbán feels that he can defeat Dobrev, who is called Mrs. Gyurcsány in right-wing circles, but is afraid of Karácsony. In this case, Orbán needs to mobilize 100,001 people to go to the opposition primaries and vote for Dobrev, and he has already reversed the result in Dobrev's favor. But if Orbán actually prefers Jakab as his opponent, 150,001 Fidesz pre-voters are enough for that. So, in our example, even though the opposition successfully mobilizes a lot of people for the primary election, Fidesz needs to mobilize less than a tenth so that its chosen one wins."

If this is what math says, then why does the institution of primary elections work so well in many other countries, the teacher asks himself, for both opposition and government parties? Because in our example, the 100-150,000 people who go to the opposition primaries as Fidesz supporters behave like those who go to a stranger's wedding uninvited to eat and drink. This would be considered outrageous in our country too, and if the matter were to become known, the wedding party would thoroughly confuse the person who does this."

I would like to draw the attention of the Measurement teacher to the following three things:

One! Elsewhere, primaries work because they are mostly closed and only supporters of their own party are invited. Not five more. Wherever it is open, conventions have centuries-old traditions.

Two! Well, the fact that Viktor Orbán and his supporters were not invited is a mistake! They invited him too, and even the whole village! What do they wonder when they come? Why should the invitees be confused?

Three! And that's the most important thing. I wonder who dares to tell Mr. Mérő that Orbán will not come to this wedding despite the invitation. Because the bride has money! And he knows exactly that he doesn't have to send any of his people there, because the voting is just a stage. How many people voted, in what distribution and for whom, the president of the Civil Election Office, Dr. Magyar, and his boss, Ferenc Gyurcsány, already know exactly.

So it's completely pointless to troll, because according to my memories, multiplying by zero is not worth it, you can't divide it! Although in the world of irrational numbers anything can happen!

The measurement teacher continued to puzzle his head. See here. This is what happens when someone forgets their sense of humor at home, when they sit in a cabaret!

The show must go on! Christmas is coming!
