Thanks to the government's decisions, Hungarian families are able to increase their savings that have been depleted during the epidemic, which strengthens their sense of security. KINCS agrees that families will get a part of their paid taxes back. The organization also expressed its opinion on the Child Protection Act.

As a result of the epidemic, the lives of all of us have changed significantly, in most cases it has become significantly more difficult - stated the Mária Kopp Institute for Population and Family Resources (KINCS). They added: this is especially true for those who are raising children, since in their case, the performance of school and kindergarten tasks and the all-day supervision of the children required constant energy, so that in the meantime the daily household chores and the work ensuring a living had to be done.

In connection with the new national consultation, Magyar Hírlap asked the NGO about whether, if the government succeeds in raising the rate of economic growth above 5.5 percent, parents raising children would get back the taxes they paid in 2021.

At KINCS, they believe that it is particularly fair to ensure that families get money back from the taxes they paid, and since this is tied to actual tax payments, it is also fair. They added: the opportunity only opens up in the event of a particularly good economic result, and since the costs are covered precisely from the extra performance of the economy, this will not mean an additional burden elsewhere.

The NGO stated: due to the large-scale vaccination, our country was able to wait for the restart of the economy under much more favorable conditions, so after the epidemic, its results can appear directly in the coffers of families raising children.

The institute sees it as: the measure fits organically into the decade-long family-friendly budget approach, and the government remains committed to a work-based economy, where reducing the tax burden leaves more income for those who raise children and pay personal income tax. The measure affects one and a half million working parents, and everyone is entitled to the amount regardless of income.

The amount of reimbursement has an upper limit, which is HUF 800,000 per person, so if both parents are earners, they can receive a one-time state subsidy of HUF 1.6 million. Through the measure, Hungarian families can increase their savings that have been depleted during the coronavirus, which strengthens their sense of security.

The organization was also asked what they thought about another suggestion of the national consultation, according to which George Soros launched an international attack on Hungary because of the law on the protection of children.

KINCS emphasized: the anti-pedophile law is about the exclusive right of parents to guide their child's sexual development and to protect them from any other attempts to influence them. Children have no place in the lives of content that is inappropriate for their age, be it alcohol, smoking or violent, scientifically disguised attempts at sexual influence.

Organizations that ignore the real interests of children cannot claim rights that belong to Hungarian parents, nor can they impose their will on Hungarian families who oppose their wishes.
