According to estimates, there are around 300,000 parents at home with their children in Hungary today. A significant part of them would take up part-time work in addition to raising children, but in the current regulatory environment it can only be done within very limited frameworks, so unfortunately many are forced to give up this opportunity.

Employment through the cooperative of those at home with small children can be helpful for them. A solution similar to the successful regulation of student cooperatives and pensioners' cooperatives provides an opportunity for parents raising their young children to undertake joint ventures and work, all under easy-to-fulfill conditions.

The submitted draft law would also provide tax and contribution benefits for the start-up and operation: the registration of the cooperative is tax-free, there is no obligation to pay social contribution tax and no social security contributions are required. Cooperative members - fathers and mothers - only pay personal income tax, but it is also possible to receive a tax-free food or meal voucher.

The VOSZ welcomes the expansion of atypical employment opportunities and the creation of cooperatives for those staying at home with young children.
