Székelyudvarhely residents and the surrounding area who would like to apply for Hungarian citizenship no longer have to travel to Székelyudvarhely, as the Transylvanian Hungarian National Council (EMNT) opened a new democracy center in the small town on Wednesday. At the center, they will help you compile the bundle of documents required for taking the oath.
It means a lot for Székelykeresztúr that, thanks to the newly opened democracy center, the people living there can now compile the package of documents necessary to acquire Hungarian citizenship locally - declared János Hunor Koncz, the mayor of the settlement, at the opening ceremony of the office building at 22 Szabadság tér.
As he said, up to now, naturalizations could only be carried out "by hand" in the region, but in the coming days, residents will be able to be received in the office every weekday. Client reception takes place on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., with the exception of Wednesdays, when they are open between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., szekelyhon.ro learned from Attila Györgyi, an employee of the office.
Ten years have passed since the introduction of the simplified naturalization procedure, but there are still reserves in Transylvania, there are still Hungarian people who for some reason did not take advantage of this opportunity
Said Krisztina Sándor, executive president of EMNT.
At the same time, he expressed hope that the number of naturalization applications in the region will increase thanks to the opening of the office.
