The continuation of the ridge road in Csepel cannot continue to be built, because the capital has "failed" the European Union application for the third time, so the "bee pasture" remains, Fidesz member of parliament Szilárd Németh, state secretary of the Ministry of National Defense, told journalists in Csepel on Friday.

The chairman of the electoral district of the governing party explained: the first section of the ridge road, the Teller Ede road, was completed in 2011, its extension to the M0 highway would significantly improve traffic in the district, and the traffic jams currently experienced in the district due to the agglomeration and freight traffic would disappear.

For the third time, the administration of the capital failed to obtain the European Union tender money, which could have been used to continue the ridge road, and the construction of the promised public park next to the already completed section was also left behind, so there will be "weeds up to the neck and the bee pasture", he added. He noted: the mayor does not perform the tasks that should be performed, nor does he implement the necessary improvements.

According to Szilárd Németh, Ferenc Gyurcsány "has two people" in Csepel: Mayor Gergely Karácsony, who prefers to maintain bee pastures instead of extending the ridge road, and (independent) Member of Parliament Szabolcs Szabó, who spoke in the Parliament on Thursday that he does not support Fudan University, the student city and the legislative proposals on sports developments in Csepel. And this is an "amazing political crime", as they would - indirectly - significantly contribute to the development of the district, he added.

Gyurcsány's two men are unfit to represent the interests of the people of Csepel and the development of Csepel, said the politician.

Tamás Schanda, the parliamentary state secretary of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, stated that "despite all the whining", the capital will receive the government's support for the developments, as it happened in the case of the Csepel ridge road, "but somehow the success does not come together".

He recalled: the capital city government wanted to obtain a source from Brussels that could be tendered directly for the construction of the ridge road, which was supported by the government. However, the capital city submitted its application for a framework that did not support the construction of the ridge road, which is why the EU rejected it. The capital appealed, citing an administrative error, but this was also rejected by the EU. After that, the capital applied again for the source with unchanged content, but the EU again rejected it.

This is how Gergely Karácsony's Budapest works, that is, it does not work: even if the government supports it, if the Budapest city administration is unable to show results - he noted, adding that instead of being ashamed of himself for this, the mayor "signs up to lead the country" and "he Ferenc Gyurcsány's favorite candidate for Prime Minister".

Tamás Schanda also touched on the fact that this "disastrous EU application performance" was brought about by the capital by having its own representative office in Brussels, whose annual budget was increased from 37 million to 112 million, and its leader, "a failed EP representative", receives HUF 900,000 per month look for. He stated: it is clear that "if we entrust them with the management of something, we will only face lies and helplessness".

Szilárd Németh was also asked about the fact that BKV will not operate its small boat services on the Danube this year due to financial reasons. According to the politician, this is "amazing", and he reminded: during the time of former mayor István Tarlós, the possibility of small boats was created, which was very popular. The capital city municipality has 130 billion forints in its account, he noted.
