Holy Trinity Sunday is a notable church holiday after Pentecost. Holy Trinity (Trinitas Sancta), as can be read in the latest Catholic Lexicon, is the mystery of the one, living and true God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three persons in one essence.

Those who differ from each other, but in such a way that their essence is one and indivisible. It is an absolute mystery that can never be exhaustively known to a created being. God revealed his paternity by sending the Son who is of the same essence as him and the Holy Spirit who is also of the same essence. We must know that God did not only communicate his existence verbally, he did not give a mere verbal explanation of it, but showed it in the process and events of salvation history. The beginning of this process is the Old Testament revelation, and its fulfillment is Jesus Christ.

The Holy Trinity has great respect and cult among our people. He is the patron of our churches and chapels, and outdoor statues have been erected in his memory in many places. Palócföld is no exception to this, where the Virgin can often be found on the erected statues. Let's pay our respects to this holiday by counting some of these memories.
