Prime Minister Viktor Orbán participated in today's government briefing, where he answered questions from journalists.

With the help of Origo.hu, we quote some important ideas from what was said at the briefing.

The next National Consultation is coming

Regarding the announcement, the Prime Minister said:

"Through people's opinions, we want to confirm whether we will undertake the difficulty of raising the minimum wage in 1 or 2 steps to HUF 200,000".

The government is also waiting for the opinion of those participating in the consultation on the tax refund, that is, that families raising children will get their tax paid back next year. He mentioned the moratorium as the third issue. The opinion of those who responded to the consultation is also sought on how the repayment moratorium should continue and be transformed. The fourth issue could be the climate tax initiated by Brussels. The European Commission would impose a climate tax on families who use cars and own apartments. "Now the question is whether we should open another regime with Brussels," he said.

The consultation will also discuss the extent to which it is worthwhile to build up production capacities for the operation of a safe economy (for example, regarding the production of vaccines, masks, medical devices). The issue of the refugee and migration quota is also on the agenda, as the situation in Southern Europe is becoming more and more difficult.

The form of the national consultation will be similar to the previous ones, it will be possible to fill in the consultation forms by mail or electronically, he explained.

What about the EU ID card?

There is also a professional debate about mixing vaccines, but the Hungarian medical society has not formed its position on this. I have a Hungarian protection card, but no EU protection card. There is a common agreement with 14 countries, and you can travel there mutually, he added. - EU green cards will be available from July 1 at the earliest, but these are also issued by the member states. We have chosen the solution that all the data of the electronic version of the Hungarian protection card will match the EU one. In time, it will be possible to travel with all vaccinations , he added.

There will be a referendum on Fudan University

The founding of a university is a professional issue of higher education, the left made it a political issue. There is no other solution than to hold a referendum on Fudan University in Budapest. The prime minister announced that there will be a final vote on Fudan University, but plans must be presented by December 31 next year, and then a referendum can be held.

Why is home ownership important?

Viktor Orbán responded: "I'm not a fan of closure and I'm in favor of free trade, it's good for us if there's not a cold war atmosphere in the world ." We cannot be independent in any strategic sector.

The Prime Minister reminded that the banking system was previously owned by foreigners, and when there was a problem, everyone took their money home. He also spoke about the fact that previously he had to recover 25 percent of MOL. " I did a lot to ensure that strategic areas were in Hungarian hands in as many areas as possible."

The relationship between Brussels and Hungary

Where possible, they look for the possibility of loyal cooperation in the union, but where the interests of the country are in danger, they have to join the fight. There is an EU treaty that says what requires unanimity and majority opinion. In order for this to change, the EU treaty must be amended. Decision-making powers should be taken back from Brussels, he added. On June 19, we will present the Hungarian position on the future of the union.

Sports and politics

The Prime Minister was also asked about the Irish team kneeling during the Hungarian-Irish match.

"I do not sympathize in the least with kneeling, sport is about something else, and there is no place for it on the field. Such gestures are culturally dependent. We think about these gestures in a completely different way than in the British culture. There are countries that used to keep people as slaves, we didn't keep any people as slaves. This is not our problem, we didn't even have colonies, he added. These are things that are not known in our cultural milieu.

WE EXPECT OUR NATIONAL TEAMS TO FIGHT, WIN AND DIE STANDING!

I agree with the fans," added the prime minister.
