Those participating in the defense will receive ten days of additional paid leave - this was announced by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Thursday's Government Information. The relevant government decree can be found in the Hungarian Gazette.
According to the legislation, employees in the health service relationship participating in the defense against the coronavirus epidemic, law enforcement officers, soldiers and army personnel, social workers, child welfare, child protection and government office workers are entitled to 10 days of additional leave within two years . The entitlement affects more than 170,000 public service workers.
In the case of the police, the commander in charge of staff or the head of the organizational unit of the body performing law enforcement tasks, in the case of soldiers and government office workers, the person exercising the authority of the employer, while in the case of healthcare and social institutions, the employer decides who is entitled to additional leave.
The government would also like to express its thanks and appreciation to those involved in the defense , who in recent months have helped us overcome the third wave of the epidemic and implement one of the most successful vaccination programs in Europe.
