As is well known, Ferenc Gyurcsány's mouthpiece, Ágnes Vadai (DK) has submitted a law amendment to the Parliament, with which they would like to see the obligation to report override the secrecy of confession. The Christian Democratic People's Party rejects this open attack on the Catholic Church, says the KDNP statement.

Imre Vejkey, deputy faction leader of the KDNP, asks the Gyurcsánys the question, where do they get the courage and the right to intervene in issues in which only the head of the Catholic Church, the Pope, has authority and competence?

According to the politician, this is nothing more than disregarding the Church, the Hungarian Basic Law and international conventions in force, which he considers to be a serious attempt to interfere with canon law. He added that the leading force of the united left has now shown its teeth, the anti-Christian aggression, which is their true habitus.

Vejkey draws attention to the fact that this attempt to intervene is not new, as many priests were dragged and even executed by the communists because they did not reveal their oath to God, that is, they did not reveal the secret they learned during confession. Now the spirit of communist terror is coming back, when the clergy would be forced to take an oath again.

Due to the misinterpretation caused by the DK's press conference, the KDNP politician considers it important to emphasize that the truth is that today in Hungary, according to the Basic Law and the relevant legislation, the same criminal law rules apply to all church members and workers in church institutions as everyone else. Claims to the contrary are false and devoid of any reality. Therefore, in defense of the Christian community.
