According to press reports, László Bíró will be Jobbik's candidate in the primary election in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. Mazsihisz still does not wish to interfere in party political issues, but it strongly expresses its protest against the participation of politicians who hold anti-Semitic views in public life.

In connection with last year's by-election in Borsod, we already made it clear that we consider László Bíró unworthy of representing the electorate due to his previous anti-Semitic comments. At that time, we hoped that he would only be mentioned in the past tense from now on.

We are convinced that people who profess exclusionary ideas in Hungarian public life only have a political past, but cannot have a future - writes András Heisler, president of the Association of Hungarian Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz), in a statement.
