Sixty designated government windows throughout the country and the Central Document Office will remain open during the administrative break ordered between December 22 and January 6, the Prime Minister's Office informed MTI.

They reminded: due to the increase in energy prices caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war and the "misguided Brussels sanctions", it became necessary to reduce the use of gas by state bodies, so the government ordered an administrative break between December 22 and January 6. The limited opening hours of the government windows, which can also be visited during the break, will be uniform nationwide: on December 22, they will operate according to the customer reception schedule for Thursday, then after Christmas, from Monday to Thursday, it will be possible to do business between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. On the affected Fridays (December 23, 30 and January 6), all government windows and document offices are closed. It is important that, from December 12, delivery of completed documents can only be requested at government offices that will be open during the administrative break.

Most of the customer services of other government offices will be closed for the entire duration of the administrative break, they wrote, adding that the reception of customers in the land offices will also be suspended on January 9, because that is when applications received by post or electronically will be processed.

The government offices carry out the constantly justified official inspections and the tasks related to the prevention of crisis situations during the administrative break, including public health, victim assistance, labor protection, animal health and food safety, consumer protection, and the Family Protection Services also carry out their tasks. The applications can be submitted electronically, on the Magyarorszag.hu website or on e-paper, at any time, and will be processed at the end of the administrative break, the announcement reads.
