Sustainability, international sales strategies, and the effective exploitation of the opportunities offered by social media are the focus of the theme of this year's viticultural and winemaking event of the Lakitel Pannon Vinersitas Free University, which began on Tuesday, CED Central European Economic Development Network Nonprofit Kft. announced to MTI.
The Pannon Vinersitas Free University, which supports the education of the young Hungarian generation of winemakers in the Carpathian Basin, preparation for export processes, dialogue between industry players, and the development of the sector, was organized for the third time by the CED Central European Economic Development Network Nonprofit Kft. Centrum and with the professional support of the HEPA Hungarian Export Development Agency.
The purpose of the event, with the participation of more than 100 representatives from around 50 wineries, is to dynamize collaborations between young winemakers of the Carpathian Basin, provide a platform for the wide sharing of experiences, and provide the participants with up-to-date economic, market and professional knowledge of the industry.
László Csík, managing director of the CED Central European Economic Development Network Nonprofit Kft., highlighted in the announcement that the aim of the Pannon Vinersitas Free University is to provide a professional platform that contributes to the young Hungarian winemakers of the Carpathian Basin helping each other and learning from each other to achieve international export success.
Péter Frittmann, the president of the Junibor - Young Winemakers' Association, emphasized that the Covid-19 pandemic, like others, presented extraordinary challenges to wineries, they lost 50-100 percent of their markets overnight. In accordance with the spirit of Junibor, the goal is to create a knowledge-based, supportive community that ensures the professional development of the future generation of winemakers, he added.
According to the information, Elizabeth Gabay, an expert with the title of Master of Wine, will also give a presentation at the two-day event on the subject of international marketing of various types of wine. After the professional presentations, there will be an opportunity to taste wine specialties from all areas of the Carpathian Basin, and personal consultation with international wine experts, traders, and export development consultants.
