The prosecutor's office successfully appealed against the partial termination of the criminal proceedings in the Alstom case, the Chief Prosecutor's Office of the Capital City of Appeal announced yesterday. All this means that the authorities will not let the key figure of the Alstom affair, the biggest corruption scandal connected to the Demszky Budapest city administration and the MSZP-SZDSZ government, run.
Magyar Hírlap , it is announced that the decision of the Metropolitan Court of Appeal has now annulled the decision of the first instance court last December, which terminated the criminal proceedings against T. Géza because the Austrian authorities had already investigated him once and, according to the Metropolitan Court hearing the case, twice no one can be prosecuted for the same.
Fortunately, the district court did not agree with this argument and ordered the Metropolitan Court to continue the proceedings. According to the prosecution T. Géza who contributed to the transfer of bribe money to left-liberal circles. According to the indictment, Alstom paid eight and a half million euros (2.8 billion forints at the exchange rate at the time) to the perpetrators, who remained unknown, to influence the public procurement procedure with an illegal, financial advantage.
The indictment clearly revealed that only the bribe takers were brought to the dock, the names of those to whom the bribes landed remained in the dark, so the actors of the left-liberal political side avoided being held accountable, despite the fact that they could not decide on any important step of the investment in the BKV- without the grand politics of the time and Demszky's leadership.
