Common sense won: an agreement was reached on Monday. The consistent action of the Hungarian government, as well as the decisive stance of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and the Association of Hungarian Farmers' Unions and Farmers' Cooperatives (Magosz) contributed substantially to the agricultural agreement concluded between the member states and the European Parliament (EP), reads the NAK 's information

The farmers' representatives reminded us: at the end of May, they acted unitedly in the interests of the farmers against the incapable agrarian reform ideas of the left-wing, liberal representatives of the European Parliament.

The bureaucrats in Brussels and the EP wanted to set impossible requirements for farmers. NAK and Magosz highlighted:

with their wishful thinking, they threatened the future of agriculture, the livelihood of millions of people, and the food security of the continent.

Proposals completely off the ground would have caused a significant competitive disadvantage for European and Hungarian farmers. At the same time, they would have given a market advantage to uncontrolled products from outside the European Union. All of this would have resulted in a significant increase in food prices.

As civilek.info also reported , the Hungarian representatives called on the EP not to cause farmers a competitive disadvantage. In addition, NAK and Magosz launched a petition among Hungarian farmers, but in addition to collecting signatures, the organizations also participated in the international farmers' demonstration held in Brussels on June 25.

Thanks also to the action of European producers, the ministers of the nations succeeded in ensuring that the environmental expectations of farmers do not increase to an unrealistic extent due to the new agricultural policy decisions that will come into force from 2023, and that vital subsidies are accessible to them by fulfilling reasonable conditions.

It was only a matter of time before the future of European agriculture was made impossible by unjustified restrictions.

The cooperation of the Hungarian farmers, the chamber, the government and the agriculture ministers of the other EU countries brought results: common sense prevailed, said the chamber and Magosz.
