The operative group responsible for restarting economic life has put its first proposals on the government's table, six of which have already been accepted, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced before the meeting of the operative group responsible for restarting economic life on Friday.

Péter Szijjártó, according to the ministry's announcement, emphasized that every decision serves the purpose of making as many investments as possible in Hungary and making success on the export markets available to as many Hungarian companies as possible. "The Hungarian economy is the 11th most open economy in the world, so export performance basically determines the performance of the national economy, and investments are the basic conditions for the continuation of job creation," emphasized the minister.

According to the first approved proposal, after the five counties so far, in two new counties it will be possible for the government to provide non-refundable cash support to companies starting from a lower limit of 5 million euros. "Until now, this was only possible in five counties, in the other counties the lower limit was 10 million euros. From now on, however, in the counties of Somogy and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, the government can provide cash support for investments above 5 million euros based on individual government decisions," said the minister.

A decision concerning the labor market was also made. One of the consequences of the pandemic is that employees work remotely. The government has modified the regulation of remote working and working from home to create much more flexible conditions.

"We have abolished completely unnecessary and completely meaningless rules. By amending the Labor Code, we made it possible for the employer and the employee to agree that the employee should perform his/her tasks partly remotely and partly on-site," said the minister.

He added: the government has either completely eliminated the bureaucratic occupational health and safety and other rules that made this impossible, or significantly simplified them. In addition, accounting obligations related to remote work and work done at home have also been significantly reduced, and the regulations have been simplified.
