The specialists of the HUNOR Rescue Service and TEK carried out excavations and surveys throughout the day.

"The teams freed elevator shafts, after which they mapped the passages with measuring devices, typically a thermal camera," said the M1 correspondent from the scene.

"Where they found signs of life, they immediately began the excavation," he added.

He emphasized: the locals are very happy about the Hungarian presence.

"The fact that Hungary was one of the first to send aid to troubled Turkey means a lot to the people living here," said Csaba Lantos.

He added that when the locals hear that they are from Hungary, the first word they say is " thank you ".
